Happy New Year, creators! 🎉 ✨

We wish you success, happiness, fulfillment, and funding in 2025!

I hope you had a restful holiday season and are ready to take advantage of all the opportunities that bear your name.

Now, let’s get into this newsletter with (114) grants for creatives totaling approximately $4,682,499. Plus, there are still (94) grants with January deadlines, too. Click here for our January 2025 grants list - we are adding more funding opportunities weekly.

If you’re new here, welcome!

Grants For Creators is a reader-supported newsletter that shares grants and other funding opportunities for creatives, small business owners, and entrepreneurs within the United States. Readers like you keep this resource afloat, and we are grateful for your support.

Grants or “free money with strings attached” exist and can support your creative pursuits. However, finding funding opportunities isn’t easy.

With a simple Google search, you’ll find a lot of expired grants, non-creative focused grants, and funding announcements. You can waste precious time researching with little to show for it.

Our small team of former professional grant administrators turned creative entrepreneurs spend dozens of hours scouring the web every week so you don’t have to.

We believe creators should receive the funding they need to impact their communities and ultimately change the world. We hope our resource makes the research task 10x easier.

While our free subscribers can preview a handful of grants, to access our complete list, join as a paid subscriber today for $10 per month or $100 per year. Give us a try and tap into funding opportunities you may have missed otherwise.

Helpful Tip: Our newsletter is chronologically ordered from February 1st to February 28th. To help you save time, we also call out who grants are for in titles. We will continuously share more February grants as we find them. Be on the lookout for our weekly emails with updates.

[FEATURED GRANTS]

1. NASW Science in Society Journalism Awards

This opportunity provides recognition — without subsidy from any professional or commercial interest — for investigative or interpretive reporting about the sciences and their impact on modern society. NASW primarily seeks to recognize science writing that is shaped by a variety of perspectives because such writing enables us to tell more broadly relevant stories that better serve the readers and communities. Therefore, they consider diversity in topics, sources, audience, and authors to be a critical component of excellence. A committee of accomplished peers judges the entries each year. NASW will award cash prizes of $2,000.

Deadline: February 1, 2025

Apply to this opportunity.

2. Wave Farm Artists-in-Residence - For Radio Art

Wave Farm welcomes submissions from artists, researchers, tinkerers, and writers from a variety of disciplines who will embrace this opportunity to create work for a terrestrial radio station that celebrates risk-taking and prioritizes the uniquely urgent and intimate nature of the radio medium. Applicants should deeply consider the distinctive qualities of FM radio instead of online radio and/or podcasts. This opportunity is open to international applicants. Women, gender non-conforming people, and people of color are encouraged to apply. Applicants will spend 10 days on-site at Wave Farm (Acra, NY) developing a new 55-minute radio artwork designed explicitly for terrestrial radio broadcast on Wave Farm’s creative community radio station WGXC 90.7-FM: Radio for Open Ears. Their radio artwork will also be included in Wave Farm’s weekly syndicated program, The Radio Art Hour, which is rebroadcast on dozens of additional radio stations across the U.S. A stipend of $1,000 will be provided to each resident artist.

Individuals may apply only once for up to $10,000. Funds are unrestricted and can be used in any way that alleviates financial hardship.
