November 7th: Grants For Artists, Nonprofits, and Photographers
Connecting over 1,850 creatives to paid funding opportunities!
Hey, creators!
November is filled to the brim with funding opportunities!
This week’s newsletter features 31 awards up to $100,000.
But first, time for a quick pep talk.
The (very) specific opportunity you are looking for may not exist. Or maybe you already missed the deadline. Perhaps it's out there, but you still need to find it.
These are all in the realm of possibility.
But keep an open mind.
While this can be discouraging, I encourage you to keep at it.
Applying for grants is a numbers game. The more grants you apply to, the greater your chance of winning one. If you’re not in the game, how can you be considered?
Grants, more commonly known as "free money," are highly competitive.
I've applied for plenty of grants this year, but I have yet to win any.
Meanwhile, between 2020 and 2021, I won four.
That doesn’t make me more or less of a creator deserving of funding. It just means, it hasn’t happened yet. Keyword — yet.
My hope for Grants For Creators is to show creatives, who are also small business owners, what’s possible. This newsletter is proof that millions of dollars are available to support us. Also, I hope to cut down on your research time. Browse through this newsletter, pick the ones that stand out to you, prepare your submission, and apply.
When curating this newsletter, I intentionally cast my net wide.
I spend 4-6 hours a week searching for funding opportunities for writers, journalists, photographers, podcasters and audio creators, filmmakers, craftspeople, artists, poets, and entrepreneurs. Some awards will have these specific terms in the description, while others do not.
For a thorough overview, I recommend my Intro To Grants For Creators workshop — discover what a grant is, the pros and cons, and how it can help fund your project, program, or business.
Announcing Introduction To Business Grant Writing
While finding grants is one of my superpowers, writing grant proposals is NOT.
I am NOT a grant writer, but I’ve teamed up with one to bring the Grants For Creators community an exclusive 1-hour workshop that tackles (3) of the most common questions found on grant applications.
In this session, you’ll learn how to tell a compelling story and distinguish yourself from countless other submissions.
Doors open for enrollment on November 25th for Black Friday, so stay tuned!
