Our 2022 Year End Review

🤭 You can say we were busy last year!

As we quickly approach the first anniversary of Grants For Creators (GFC), I’m in awe of how much we’ve accomplished.

I don’t share much about my personal life here, but I had a baby last year, and he is the inspiration for launching this newsletter.

While I procrastinated for six months, one sleepless night, Baby K insisted I get to work (he had a very demanding personality even in the womb). Within three days, Grants For Creators was born.

As a former Grants Manager who quit her job to pursue podcasting, blogging, and podcast coaching full-time, I would have never imagined utilizing my grants-finding skills to serve thousands of creators.

More than sharing funding opportunities and helping you save hours on research time, this newsletter is changing the conversation. Creators are starting to envision themselves as small businesses worthy of applying for all different types of funding.

Some of us even secured funding last year, like Janina, who won a $25,000 grant spotted in this newsletter to produce another In Those Genes Podcast season.

Talk about powerful!

And you know what…

We are just getting started.

As a recap, here’s a run down of our 2022 highlights:

1. We launched Grants For Creators on January 25, 2022.

2. Over 2,000 subscribers joined our newsletter in 2022.

3. We shared 655+ grants in 2022. Thousands of funding opportunities crossed our desks.

4. We created (6) playlists to highlight specific opportunities for particular groups of people and/or types of crafts, including:

• Grants for nonprofits

• Grants for podcasters and audio creators

• Grants for Black creators, founders, and small businesses

• Grants with rolling deadlines

• Grants for women-owned businesses with no deadlines

• Grants for NFT and Web3

7. We expanded our team by hiring (2) team members, a Grants Researcher and Grants Coordinator.

9. Danielle was invited to Substack Grow, a program for writers to explore growth strategies.

14. We launched the Intro to Grants For Creators workshop ($17) for those looking to learn the fundamentals of grants and why they should consider this funding mechanism as creators.

What do we have planned for 2023?

• More playlists for Latinx, persons with disabilities, and journalists, to name a few.

• We’ve partnered with Melissa Wetzel, CFRE, to host a grant writing workshop in January 2023. Sign up for Introduction To Business Grant Writing ($97).
