1. [NEW] The POLITICO Fellows Program - For Journalists
This is a competitive program offering a select group of enterprising journalists or other professionals a front-row seat to the biggest storylines dominating American and international politics at a time of historic political disruption – and a jump-start to a career in political and policy journalism. Candidates with at least two years of relevant experience will be considered for a 12-month term covering the power dynamics and policy debates – on climate, healthcare, technology, and more – driving decision-making at the White House, Congress, federal agencies, and key state capitals for POLITICO’s influential audiences. Participants will receive total compensation of $60,000, plus benefits, and will be considered for an open position in the POLITICO newsroom upon successful completion of the program.

2. [NEW] The 2025 HEAL Fellowship - For Journalists
This fellowship aims to serve youth struggling with mental health issues by supporting U.S. journalists to report on and amplify solutions. An honorarium of up to $5,000 will be provided. Ten U.S journalists will be selected based on the strength of their project’s equity component, and how closely their project proposals align with the following four HEAL criteria. Successful fellowship projects will:
-(H)elp spread rigorous reporting on what’s working to address mental health issues and inequities, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, racism, neglect, loneliness, and more
-(E)xpand young audiences’ access to solutions reporting on issues affecting them
-(A)ssess the impact of solutions reporting and community engagement
-(L)earn and teach others how to report on and amplify youth mental health solutions journalism

3. [NEW] The Beyond Print Program - For Independent Local Newspapers
This opportunity supports independent local newspapers in developing and testing strategies that accelerate the shift from print to digital while preserving or enhancing access to local journalism. Build sustainable revenue models, including subscriptions, advertising, membership, philanthropy, or other sources. Redesign digital products to better meet customer needs, including those of young consumers. Explore successful models for publishing on newer content distribution platforms. Generate actionable lessons that can be replicated by peers. Independently-owned, local newspapers based in the U.S. that currently distribute a print product and are committed to digital transformation are eligible to apply. Up to $50,000 per organization will be awarded.
