Why subscribe?

Grants For Creators is a monthly newsletter curating grants and other funding opportunities for creators, founders, and small business owners. Grants featured are US based only.

While free subscribers access a handful of featured grants monthly, paid subscribers get access to our full newsletter with 100+ awards and additional playlists we create for disabled persons, podcasters, filmmakers, journalists, and more.

What is a creator?

We consider creators to include podcasters, artists, dancers, musicians, writers, authors, poets, influencers, photographers, filmmakers, journalists, videographers, and more.

Here’s what some of our subscribers are saying about the newsletter. The excitement from this community keeps us motivated!

What’s involved with creating this newsletter?

Searching for relevant grants creators can apply to takes a lot of time to curate.

My team spends 8-10 hours per week researching and working on this newsletter, ensuring subscribers can take action quickly without having to shift through tons of irrelevant opportunities.

My goal is to eventually start our own creator fund to offer our own grants, but I know this will take time.

Where we’ve been featured?

Since launching in January 2022, we’ve been featured in Podnews, HMI, Podcasting Seriously, Black Podcasting Awards, and Afros & Audio to name a few. We’ve also been invited to speak at several events and podcasts. For all inquiries, email grantsforcreators (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thank you for helping us spread the word!

About the Founder

Hi there, I’m Danielle Desir Corbett.

I’m a Grants Manager turned podcaster, author, and writer.

In a past life, I helped researchers search for and apply to grant opportunities to fund their research projects.

Note: I was not a grant writer — instead, think of me as a project manager.

I kept my Principal Investigators on track, meeting all their deadlines and ensuring they had all the pieces required for submissions. When the grants got funded, I assisted with the reporting and financial management of the funds.

Throughout my tenure, I submitted multi-million dollar grant proposals for seven years until 2021 when I quit my corporate career to pursue creative entrepreneurship.

In 2021, I won (4) grants to help fund my creative projects.

My eyes were now open to the possibility. As a creator and mission-driven small business owner, I could win grant funding to bring my projects to life. Wow!

After regularly finding so many grant opportunities (and having nowhere to share them), I created Grants For Creators to:

1) encourage creators (especially People of Color) to consider themselves as small business owners worthy of winning grants to fund the growth of their business.

2) Help creators find relevant grants and opportunities faster.

3) Share helpful grant writing/finding tips so we can take our businesses to the next level.

Applying to grants and other paid opportunities has changed the trajectory of my business (and life), and I want the same for you.

So leave the research to me. Not only am I really good at it, but it’s also a lot of fun!
