1. [NEW] Barn Raiser Reimagining Rural Cartographies Open Call - For Authors/Writers & Photographers
This opportunity invites proposals for a forthcoming series of arts and culture stories. The stories (including creative nonfiction, reported stories, and photo essays) will explore the work of artists, environmental stewards, community organizers, and artistic and social justice movements informing Midwestern creativity and social change. They will focus on reimagined or nontraditional forms of cartography and mapping, and the mapping theme could be expressed through the story’s subject or construction. A $1,000 stipend accompanies each project.
