1. [NEW] The North Dakota Governor’s Photo Contest for Travel and Tourism - For Photographers
This opportunity celebrates the talents of North Dakotans and highlights our state as a remarkable destination. This year, the contest honors America’s 250th anniversary and the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Roosevelt once said, “I have always said I would not have been President had it not been for my experience in North Dakota.”
In that spirit, entries should capture North Dakota experiences that shaped legends like Roosevelt and continue to inspire us to “Be Legendary” today. Submit your photos in one of the following categories: “Call it Home” Vertical Video, Outdoors, Events, Wildlife, Must-See Places, and Skies. One winner will be selected in each category, and a $250 cash prize will be awarded to the photographer of each selected photo.
Deadline: August 31, 2026
2. [NEW] The VMFA Aaron Siskind Award - For Contemporary Photography
This award is intended to support early- to mid-career artists as well as established photographers who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their practice but may not yet have received significant critical recognition. Two artists will each receive an unrestricted prize of $25,000. This material support is meant to enable photographers to complete a meaningful body of work—whether the continuation or finalization of a photographic series; the development of an exhibition, monograph, or book project; or another major creative endeavor.
Deadline: September 1, 2026
This is as far as free subscribers go. To access our complete list of grants, become a paid subscriber of Grants For Creators. We spend dozens of hours a month researching and curating this resource. Thank you for supporting our work.
